Thenes Hotel, while among the island hotels located outside of the town centre, is nevertheless within easy reach: no more than 5 minutes away by car from the ferry dock – which abuts İğdelik Cove, on which the hotel was established 15 years ago as one of the first tourist facilities of the island. While owned by the Bozcaada Municipality, it is privately run.

There is no other hotel on the island which conveys such a sense of history, in spite of the fresh paint its walls receive each year. Nostalgia pervades the atmosphere, reminiscent of family holiday camping trips. With the stark spareness of its white-washed style, it takes you back to the days of vacationing when simplicity prevailed over comfort.

It is almost as though the hotel has a cove of its own, with a sandy beach that slopes at leisure into a stretch of shallow shore – making it ideal for waders! The water is especially still when there is no wind and during southwesterly wind conditions. A snack bar is located on the beach and is open throughout the day. Breakfast is offered seaside or open-buffet style in the dining hall inside.

The hotel’s Ayazma Beach includes a restaurant by the same name, and is at your service for breakfasts and dinners alike.
