KITESURFING

Kitesurfing, also known as kiteboarding, involves using a power kite to pull a rider through the water on a kiteboard.
The sport is still in its infancy, but is rapidly growing in popularity. In 2008, the number of kitesurfers has been estimated at around 200,000 to 250,000.
The sport is becoming safer due to innovations in kite design, safety release systems, and instruction. Many riding styles have evolved to suit different types of riders and conditions, such as wake style, wave riding, freestyle, jumping, and cruising.

Jan Aahlander and Hakan Kutlu open Turkey’s new Kitesurf destination at Cayır Beach, Bozcaada. They are lookıng forward to meet lovers of sport and adventure from middle of June 2008 until beginnıng of October.
 
Always windy Cayır beach is a perfect location for this new extreme sport.

The activity is supported by the local authorities who believe that Cayır Beach will become  one of the mayor locations for kitesurfing in Turkey.
